Raised around trainers (mainly my parents, Tim & Debbie Massa) who turned dangerous, problem horses into partners, I learned patience, courage, and the quiet power of trust. Those early years taught me to listen before speaking, to stand firm while staying kind, and to never give up on something or someone just because they’re hard to handle. That grit and those lessons are the foundation of everything we do.

How we got here

We built Massa Stables from those lessons—one careful ride, one stubborn horse, one late night in the round pen at a time. What started as a way to fix horses became a way to shape people. Over the years we’ve focused on retraining, colt starting, and teaching riders of all levels, always with safety and fundamentals first. Along the way we chose lesson horses that teach well, kept our program structured so progress is real, and opened our gates to share the rhythms of farm life.

What we’ve built

A place that teaches more than riding. We offer progressive Western lessons informed by English fundamentals, professional training, full‑care boarding, and hands‑on farm experiences. Our longhorns and mini Highlanders are part of the story—living lessons in heritage, hard work, and connection to the land. More than services, we’ve built a community where riders learn responsibility, resilience, and how to truly care for an animal that depends on them.

What we’re keeping alive

We are committed to preserving Western heritage and honest horsemanship. That means teaching correct fundamentals, building confidence through consistency, and passing down the values that saved us and shaped us: patience, emotional control, respect for the animal, and the courage to keep going when things get rough. We want every rider, family, and guest to leave feeling steadier, kinder, and more capable than when they arrived.
